Thank you so much dude. Looks like the nifty fifty's sweet spot is at f/4. Once you hit 2.5 or so on a good copy, it's all good, usually. Sounds about right based on experience. It's a bit soft at 1.8 but I don't find diffraction highly noticeable until past f8. Then again some people are more picky than me.
